Sweet Buns with Tutti-Frutti and Raisins

Buns recipe


250 gms flour
75 gms tutti-fruitti and Raisins
50 gms sugar
5 gms instant yeast
150ml milk
2.5 gms salt
A dash of Vanilla Essence
25 gms butter


1. Sift together the flour and the salt.
2. Make a well in the centre of the flour and place the sugar and the yeast in the centre.
3. Heat the milk till luke warm.
4. Pour about 50ml of the milk over the yeast and sugar and gently mix till combined.
5. Using a dough hook of the stand mixer, knead the dough adding the milk as required. Add just the amount of milk required to form the dough and knead for around 5 minutes.
6. Toeards the end of kneading, add the butter and vanilla essence.
7. Form the dough into a ball and store in a warm place, covered with a moist cloth till the dough doubles in size.
8. Once the dough is doubled, knock it down and knead the tutti-fruitti and raisin mix into the dough.
9. Form the dough into small balls and place on a baking tray to rise till doubled.
10. Preheat the oven to 200°C and bake the buns for 12 – 15 minutes.
11. Once done, apply melted butter on the tops and leave on a rack to cool.
